Step-by-step guide to the entire Three Fingers Quest in Elden Ring. Learn how to unlock the Lord of Chaos Ending and earn the Lord of Frenzied Flame achievement!

The Lord of Chaos ending revolves around inheriting the Flame of Frenzy from the Three Fingers sequestered deep beneath Lyndell, Royal Capital. The Flame of Frenzy is yellow and red, and its incantations cause Madness buildup in other Tarnished.

Maxing out the Madness meter causes you to lose a portion of both your HP and FP, but it can be mitigated by consuming Clarifying Boluses and increasing your Mind stat. However, it is not worth investing in any stat solely for status effect resistance.

The Lord of Chaos ending is arguably the most complicated and demanding ending in Elden Ring. It features a completely unique cutscene, just like Ranni’s Age of the Stars, but if you choose to host the Three Fingers, you will get locked out of the other endings unless you complete practically all of the extra content and make other specific story choices.

More specifically, the only way to undo this ending is if you complete Millicent’s quest and choose to side with her at the end, and defeat both Malenia and Dragonlord Placidusax. I’ll cover this in greater detail later on.

Step 1: Tour of the Weeping Peninsula

The core requirements for the Lord of Chaos ending begin in Limgrave on the Weeping Peninsula. Your objectives include meeting Irina and traveling to Castle Morne to give a letter to her father.

You’ll also want to visit the easy-to-miss Ailing Village in the center of the peninsula for some neat items and an introduction to the Frenzied Flame.

Irina’s Quest

You’ll meet Irina shortly after crossing the Bridge of Sacrifice to the Weeping Peninsula. She’ll ask you to deliver a letter to her father, Edgar, a Castellan at Castle Morne. Your actions don’t affect the outcome, but I think it’s best to do as she and Edgar ask.

Edgar is located at the top of Castle Morne, talk to him and give him the letter. He says he has to remain there to protect a treasured sword, one that a Leonine Misbegotten has already stolen.

Once you defeat the boss, he will travel to meet Irina and protect her…

…in vain. There’s nothing you can do to protect Irina from her cruel fate, but pay attention to both of their appearances.

Ailing Village

You will first encounter the Frenzied Flame at the Ailing Village in the middle of the Weeping Peninsula. This area serves as a bit of visual storytelling. You’ll get to see how an outer god, represented by the Three Fingers, corrupts the world with a brilliant berry called the Eye of Yelough.

There are a few items of note, including a Sacred Tear, The Flame of Frenzy (Incantation), and the Flame Crest Wooden Shield.

The Flame of Frenzy (Incantation) and Sacred Tear

The Ailing Village has a church of Marika called the Callu Baptismal Church. You’ll find a Sacred Tear at the base of Marika’s statue and Incantation: Flame of Frenzy at a nearby corpse.

You will find the Flame Crest Wooden Shield in a shack near the bonfire at the Ailing Village on the Weeping Peninsula.

Step 2: Meeting Bloody Finger Hunter Yura (Optional)

Much of Yura’s story takes place early in the game, though the ronin and self-proclaimed Bloody Finger hunter doesn’t become relevant to the Lord of Chaos ending until much later. You first meet him in Limgrave near the southern bank of Agheel Lake, past the Dragon Burnt Ruins, camping beneath a toppled stone structure.

He’ll warn you about his sworn enemy, the Bloody Fingers, as well as Agheel, the nearby lake’s proprietor and dragon. You don’t have to fight Agheel, but if you beat it, you can talk to Yura again and he will congratulate you.

Make sure you’re prepared as you’ll be heading towards an NPC invasion. You’ll need to head over to the entrance Murkwater Cave, which flows into the northern side of Agheel Lake. Murkwater Cave is also where you can first interact with Patches, but he is not related to the Flame of Frenzy at all.

Before you can enter Murkwater Cave, you’ll be invaded by Bloody Finger Nerijus. You can defeat him on your own, but Yura eventually shows up to help. Once you defeat Nerijus, you’ll automatically receive Reduvia, his enigmatic blood slinging dagger and be free to traverse the world once again.

Stop by Patches’ Emporium if you want, but otherwise head onward into the ruined overpass where you’ll be able to have a brief conversation with Yura, regardless of whether Nerijus was pulped by the time Yura waddled over.

That’s it for Yura for now. The next time you’ll meet him is at the main gate to the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Liurnia.

Step 3: Scrounging Liurnia for Hyetta’s Favorite Snack

The first required step for the Lord of Chaos ending begins in Liurnia of the Lakes at the first Site of Grace right outside the back door to Stormveil Castle. There, you’ll meet a blind aspiring Finger Maiden wearing a suspicously bloodstained gown who goes by the name Hyetta.

She explains that she’s looking for Shabriri Grapes, a juicy snack that lets her see a distant light that leads her ever closer to the Three Fingers. You’ll need to track down 3 of these Shabriri Grapes and offer them up to her at 3 different locations.

Shabriri Grape Locations

There are 3 Shabriri Grapes littered throughout Liurnia. You need to pocket all 3 and feed them to Hyetta as she travels towards the distant light. It does not matter which Shabriri Grape you feed to her at any of the first 3 locations, but you can only feed her 1 before she relocates.

At first glance, it may seem odd that you can’t just feed her all of them at once, but that just doesn’t make sense if you look closer. Hyetta effectively relies on her succulent snack for navigation, so she needs step by step instructionsk. In other words, they are her GPS (Grape Positioning System).

Grape 1: Stormveil Castle

You will find a Shabriri Grape in the lower antechamber to the throne room at Stormveil Castle. Since the exit is a one-way door, you will need to get through Stormveil Castle and defeat Godfrey the Grafted. No shortcuts for the Lord of Chaos.

Grape 2: Purified Ruins Basem*nt

You will find a Shabriri Grape in the basem*nt at the Purified Ruins along with the Two Fingers Heirloom (Talisman). The basem*nt is boarded up, so you’ll need to smash the wood to get through.

Grape 3: Revenger’s Shack

You’ll find a grape at the Revenger’s Shack in western Liurnia, home to a smörgåsbord of Raw Meat and Edgar, now the Revenger, who will invade your world. I think Edgar’s response here is quite reasonable. His daughter is now deceased as a direct result of his inability to prioritize and you choose to break into his home and steal all his food. Rude.

Edgar the Revenger drops the Shabriri Grape upon defeat. If you defeated him before he could invade you at the Revenger’s Shack, you will find this Shabriri Grape at his final resting place, either beside Irina or at Castle Morne, depending on where you fought him.

Hyetta’s Feeding Grounds

Hyetta will appear at several locations and move after munching on a Shabriri Grape. Make sure you exhaust her dialogue at each location. If you don’t see her at the next location, go back to where you were before and talk to her again. She should move after that.

Location 1: Behind Stormveil Castle

Hyetta initially appears here at the Site of Grace just outside of the exit to Stormveil Castle. She does not move until you give her that first Shabriri Grape.

Location 2: Near the Purified Ruins

After feeding her 1 Shabriri Grape and reloading the area, Hyetta will appear near the Purified Ruins near the southeast bank of the Lake(s?) of (the?) Liurnia. She’s closer to one of the smaller buildings with the portal than she is to the main structure where you found another grape.

Location 3: Gate Town Bridge, Carian Study Hall Side

You will feed Hyetta the third and final regular Shabriri Grape when you find her at the Gate Town Bridge. She’s standing on the same side as the Carian Study Hall (converted Grand Tower of Liurnia).

She will ask you to explain what the Shabriri Grapes are, as she is blind and wonders about the howling pain she hears when people give her one.

Unsurprisingly, Hyetta is sickened by your complete and utter lack of bedside manner and needs a moment of privacy. The least you can do is take a few steps back and turn away. Heathen.

When she has finished sending ocular ejecta asunder and regained her composure, you may return to the maiden’s side, though I recommend holding your nose and watching your step. Once you’ve exhausted Hyetta’s dialogue beside the Gate Town Bridge, you have one last thing to do: take a good long look in the mirror.

Location 4: Bellum Church

After feeding Hyetta the third Shabriri Grape, she’ll relocate to the Bellum Church just south of the Grand Lift of Dectus.

This time around, a regular Shabriri Grape is insufficient, and you will need to get your fingers on a Fingerprint Grape…

Step 4: A Fingerprint Grape

Even after vomiting, Hyetta has decided that she’s okay with eating other people’s eyeballs (maybe she enjoyed the taste as they were coming back up?). Unfortunately, the regular ones aren’t enough and you need to find a special one called a Fingerprint Grape.

You can find the Fingerprint Grape at the Church of Inhibition, which lies beyond the Frenzied Flame Village and Tower in northwestern Liurnia. The prior owner of the Fingerprint Grape was a fellow named Vyke.

Frenzy Flame Tower

In order to reach the Frenzy Flame Village, you’ll need to pass by a rather Lovecraftian watchtower that’s east of the Grand Lift of Dectus. Believe me, you’ll know it when you see it.

If your character has direct line of sight to the tower, regardless of the direction they’re facing, they will build up Madness. The eldritch fireball only appears briefly, so you have to play red light-green light where you only move when the fire is off or your character can’t “see” the flame from where they’re standing.

You can ride Torrent, but you’ll get knocked off if you go mad, and the bar doesn’t drain completely after that happens. Keep in mind that there are also frenzied rats that will jump out at you along the way, so you really don’t have time to hesitate.

It’s worth climbing the watchtower as there’s a goodie, just like there is at every other watchtower and ruin in the game. Be careful though, as there’s a swarm of frenzied rats at the base of the tower, including a big momma.

If they deal damage, these rats will apply Madness, so it’s easy to go Mad while fighting them. Definitely make sure your HP and FP are topped off before engaging and use your Flask of Wondrous Physick. Try to take out as many of the rats with your first strike as possible, they’re a lot harder to deal with once they go on they start pouncing.

Once you’ve dealt with the rats, you can climb up the tower and dispatch most of the villagers. You’ll find a chest containing Howl of Shabriri (Incantation). Doing so will permanently eliminate the Flame of Frenzy from appearing at the tower, implying it was caused by the villagers’ harmonious howling.

Don’t forget to rest at the nearby Site of Grace when you’re done. It’s the only one nearby, and Vyke is one of the more challenging invaders you’ll face.

Frenzy Flame Village

The Frenzy Flame Village is a larger settlement than the Ailing Village on the Weeping Peninsula, though most of its denizens where back at the howling party up on the watchtower. The town itself mostly contains some frenzied Cuckoo Knights that you’ll need to dispatch, along with 2 unique items, the Frenzied Cookbook [1] and Shabriri’s Woe Talisman.

Frenzied Cookbook [1] Location

You’ll find the Frenzied Cookbook [1] in a shack near the entrance to the Frenzied Flame Village. It will give you the recipe for Clarifying Boluses, which cures your Madness buildup.

Unfortunately, picking up this recipe causes the buildup of another status effect called “Infuriation”. I’m not sure what it does exactly since nothing happens to your character. Perhaps it affects an outer god exerting control on a special individual instead…

Shabriri’s Woe

You’ll find the Shabriri’s Woe talisman in the middle of town near the main group of frenzied Cuckoo Knights.

Shabriri’s Woe sounds like it’s just a downside, but it is useful for co-op and alongside Spirit Ashes because it allows one of you to play the role of tank. You can also temporarily equip it before and while you summon the Mimic Tear spirit ash and then swap it out so that it can tank for you.

Festering Fingerprint Vyke and Nearby Goodies

Head up the hill at the back of town and head up the hill, keep going higher and you’ll end up at the Church of Inhibition.

On the way, you should come across a golden dung beetle that drops Incantation: Frenzied Burst around this location.

As you approach the Church of Inhibition, Festering Fingerprint Vyke will invade you as you get close. Defeating him will reward you with the fancy-schmancy Fingerprint Grape for Hyetta and Vyke’s War Spear.

Don’t forget to check out the Church of Inhibition as well. There, you’ll find the usual Sacred Tear and be able to steal the clothes off a Finger Maiden, presumably Vyke’s.

That may sound a bit icky, but honestly, it’s pretty tame, considering you’ve already fed multiple mushy, discolored eyeballs to some unwitting stranger you just met.

You’ll need to return to this deceased Finger Maiden later on as part of White Mask Varré’s quest, so you might want to mark your map.

Return to Hyetta

Now, it’s time to return to Hyetta at the Bellum Church and feed her the Fingerprint Grape so she can finish her journey to the distant light. You won’t interact with her again for quite some time, not until the very end of this quest.

Step 5: Reuniting with Yura (Optional)

Next up, you’ll be spending fighting alongside Bloody Finger Hunter Yura in both Liurnia and the Altus Plateau. Please note that you must interact with Yura at each of these places in sequence, so if you want to do this step, you need to defeat Bloody Finger Nerijus back in Limgrave.

Yura vs Ravenmount Assassin

After you’ve defeated Bloody Finger Nerijus in Limgrave, you’ll need to head to Liurnia and procure Glintstone Key so you can get past the academy’s seal. Check out our Academy of Raya Lucaria Items Guide for more info.

Once you use the key to teleport through the seal, head to the right, walk past the floating seal across the square from the elevator to Raya Lucaria.

There, you’ll see a red summon sign near the left railing. You need to use it so you can invade Yura’s world and help him defeat the Ravenmount Assassin. Just like an online invasion, you’ll be given a set number of Flasks, so there’s no preparation required. Defeating the Ravenmount Assassin will reward you with Ash of War: Raptor of the Mists.

After defeating the Ravenmount Assassin, you’ll see Yura standing close to the location of his summon sign. He’ll give you a Smithing Stone [5] as a token of gratitude and tell you about his archnemesis, Eleonora, the Violet Bloody Finger.

Yura vs Eleonara

You’re all done with Liurnia now. Your next stop is to meet up with him again atop the Altus Plateau and confront Violet Bloody Finder Eleonora at the Second Church of Marika.

Unfortunately, Eleonora appears to have ambushed Yura before you could reach him, but he wasn’t prepared. By the time you arrive, Eleonora is nowhere to be found, and the Bloody Finger Hunter is lying there in a pool of his own blood, barely clinging to life. Yura only has enough time to give his last words before perishing.

Now, it’s up to you to defeat Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger on your own, and she ambushes you at the church shortly after the light leaves Yura’s eyes. Defeating her will reward you with Eleonora’s Poleblade (presumably stolen from Darth Maul) and the Purifying Crystal Tear.

Step 6: Shabriri’s Alternative

Your next objective is to reach Lyndell, Royal Capital. You need to get through the dungeon and defeat Shardbearer Morgott at the base of the Erdtree as part of the main story, but technically, you can delay it if you wish to explore the Subterranean Shunning Grounds first.

Shabriri on the Mountaintop

You can hold off on heading to the Mountaintops of the Giants for the moment if you haven’t been doing Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s quest.

However, you’ll need to do it eventually to progress the story, and the game only gets harder from here on out. You’ll also receive a veritable bounty of Runes along with the 4th Talisman Pouch, so I recommend doing it now regardless.

Once you’ve received the Rold Medallion from Melina, head through the Forbidden Lands and ride the Grand Lift of Rold to reach the Mountaintops of the Giants. You’ll find the regional map and a familiar face near the first Site of Grace up there. Exhaust his dialogue. Then, it’s time to make a decision.

Decision Time!

The Three Fingers are sealed away beneath the Subterranean Shunning Grounds beneath Lyndell. It’s easier to see the entrance (and thus reach) the Subterranean Shunning Grounds after you obtain the Rune of Death at Crumbling Farum Azula, but Melina will not survive if you let her sacrifice herself in order to become kindling for the Forge of Giants.

The decision you make is about when to inherit the Flame of Frenzy, as it will affect the ending you get. Some of this is depicted literally, some of it is implied.

If you inherit the Flame of Frenzy, you can use your own body as kindling and survive, saving Melina in the process. Melina will not be happy with your decision to align yourself with the Three Fingers, even if it will spare her life.

She will leave your side permanently if you inherit the Flame of Frenzy before setting fire to the Erdtree. Sparing Melina will unlock an additional cutscene at the end of the game.

If you wait until after Melina sacrifices herself to burn the Erdtree, you can still become the Lord of Chaos, but she will have died for nothing because you could have used yourself as kindling instead. This will result in the most evil ending, though your future as Lord is more secure.

If you do Millicent’s quest and side with her at the Haligtree, you can gain the ability to tame the Flame of Frenzy. Doing so will enable you to spare Melina and make a different decision about the future of the Lands Between. I’ll explain how this works and its implications later on since it’s a bit of a process, but this is the only way to have your cake and eat it too.

Step 7: Travel to the Subterranean Shunning Grounds

The Three Fingers are located deep beneath Lyndell, at the bottom of the Subterranean Shunning Grounds.

If you’ve already obtained the Rune of Death at Crumbling Farum Azula and Lyndell has been blanketed with ash, you can reach the Subterranean Shunning Grounds by dropping down through the now-opened manhole.

Even if you already met the Three Fingers, you should still drop down because there’s a Crimson Amber Medallion +2 up in the rafters of the main boulevard that only becomes accessible at this point in the game.

If you don’t want to wait that long, and Shabriri gave you a great reason not to, you’ll need to take an alternate path to the Subterranean Shunning Grounds at Lyndell, Royal Capital. This path begins with a well in the bad part of town. The closest Site of Grace is Avenue Balcony.

The district is right below the decomposing dragon’s wing, but it’s cut off and accessible only by jumping over the railing or doing roof-hopping elsewhere.

The same district has a dung beetle that drops Ash of War: Thunderbolt. Keep an eye out for tormented Albinaurics–they bite!

Once you’ve reached the well, the path becomes pretty linear. You’ll see a couple of gates, one of which is openable.

That’s the only way you can go, and it will take you to the Subterranean Shunning Grounds. The gate (and the item behind it) exists to pique your interest so that you can discover this path on your own.

You’ll step out onto a ledge with a ladder. If you look up to your right, you’ll see a rather tantalizing bit of loot that you can’t get until you set the Erdtree on fire.

When you reach the end of the path, you’ll see an extra rotund Omen that’s loitering about. He can murder you pretty easily, so I highly recommend interacting with the nearby Site of Grace first, just in case things don’t go as planned.

Step 8: Navigating the Pipe Network

The Subterranean Shunning Grounds lacks a properly spectacular boss fight, but it is basically a dungeon. In order to reach the Three Fingers, you will need to navigate your way through the labyrinthian pipe network to reach the room where you fight Mohg the Omen as an illusion.

I strongly recommend crafting a bunch of Rainbow Stones to use as markers to put down at pipe intersections and forks so you know which paths you’ve already covered. Be liberal with dropping them. Anytime you can cut off a route, drop a stone.

There are 3 separate pipe networks in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds. The one we care about and will exclusively focus on begins near the Dung Eater’s cell.

Along the way, you’ll see some loot to pick up. Sometimes there’s good stuff, sometimes there’s garbage. I point it out because following the pipes with corpses and loot typically leads you closer to your destination.

The first tricky bit has some passages clogged up with slugs and 2 dropdowns, neither of which will take you toward the Three Fingers. Don’t make any turns unless required, and jump over the drops to lower levels after clearing out the slugs.

The correct path is past the corpse with the item near the lantern. Keep going and jump over the next dropdown. You’ll need to choose to go right or left. Go right through the grated portion of the pipe.

Keep going and head straight towards the ladder at the end of the tunnel. It’s okay if you need a minute to recover from the heart attack caused by the SLUG JUMPSCARE.

Sadly, they’re not the only thing you need to be afraid of down here because there are a whopping 3 Omens lurking around, and all of them seem keen to score the winning Touchdown in a close game of Poop Ball. The first one usually heads down the ladder on its own, but the next two will come in when they hear the ruckus.

Climb up the ladder and open up both the gate and the door. The gate is a shortcut back to the main Underground Road(side), and the door leads to a spiraling staircase in disrepair. After you’ve rested (if necessary), head through the door.

You can go down the stairs to the right, but it’s a dead end.

The correct way is actually a narrow drop down to your left, and then you can head down those stairs.

Don’t drop down when the stairs end, head towards the item in the hall and keep going. You’ll meet some zombie/ghoul types that seem to be investigating some flora that can move as fast as their investigators.

You’ll end up at a fork in the road of sorts. The way forward down the ladder is a dead end, but if you fight past the big flower and death lizards with bulbous eyespots, you’ll get the Nomad Ashes.

Head onward and be prepared to deal with some more of those tiny-eyed death lizards. You’ll come across a locked door with a man longing to reach the other side, likely where his lover is.

That path will eventually serve as a shortcut for the next section, so keep going straight after you take him out.

You’ll end up coming across another Omen looking at something. Continue on with your murder spree of Lyndell’s deplorables. You’ll get some neat loot with a story that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

Climb up the ladder, but watch your step! Be careful not to trip on that tacky stone sticking out of the ground. Maybe knock it over so others don’t do the same.

Once you’ve reached the top of the ladder, you’ll end up high in a room you might have explored earlier on your own while you waited for the government-mandated guided tour of the Subterranean Shunning Grounds to begin.

Make sure to open the door first, so you get a shortcut back from the Underground Roadside Site of Grace. If you drop down to the main level you could have explored earlier, there’s no other way back to the upper regions in this room besides playing Poop Ball with the 3 Omens again.

After opening the door, head toward the pipe with an incline on your right as you’re looking back toward the baby grave. There are some items along the path you can grab, but focus on crossing the chasm.

Your objective is to go through that doorway near the item in the above photo. Doing so will put you back in that room with that thing from before. I already forgot what it was, though I doubt it was important to anyone.

Kick down that ladder and then jump into the final pipe! The straightaway that leads to a grated doorway will take you to a bunch of crimson and cerulean dung beetles you might have heard humming about. The sharp turn will lead you towards a bunch of rats.

There are a few goodies going toward the beetles through the grate door, but it’s ultimately a dead end. The most exciting part is finally seeing the open pipe from the prior room from the other side so you can finally evict it from living rent-free in your mind.

The correct path is to head toward the rats. You’ll end up at a fork with an item and a hole on the right/straight, and then nothing really on the left. This is the one time where following the item is sort of a lie, as there is no need to drop down that hole.

Instead, you’ll want to jump over it and keep going, or head left and keep going. Both directions lead to the same hole, one with a pretty shiny at the bottom. That’s the one you want to drop down into.

After you’ve recovered from your second heart attack, this time caused by that old man’s lover that we saw before, open up the gate shortcut but head back in the other direction.

You’ll end up taking a ladder down to a room with a bunch of Jars you can let yourself shatter, as a treat. Why is it a treat, you might ask?

BECAUSE YOU FINALLY MADE IT TO THE ELEVATOR!

Enjoy the ride down into the Forsaken Depths and rest up at the Site of Grace, for it’s time to fight Mohg the Omen at the Cathedral of the Forsaken. This Mohg is only an illusion, like the Margits you fought before. Still, he somehow persists here, even if you have already defeated him at Mohgwyn Palace.

Step 9: Seeking an Audience with the Three Fingers

After defeating Mohg the Omen at the Cathedral of the Forsaken (and Morgott the Grace-Given), open the chest to nab the Erdtree’s Favor +1 talisman and whack the altar behind it.

IT’S A SECRET PASSAGE! If you haven’t beaten Morgott up at Lyndell yet, you’ll need to do that before advancing. This lock exists because you have a critical conversation with Melina after fighting Morgott, so it can’t be possible for her to leave you until afterward.

Once you defeat Morgott, the Seal will be broken, and you are free to head into a positively delightful-looking room full of the corpses of emaciated, melty-eyed Nomads that were sealed away alive, along with the Three Fingers they serve.

While it may be grim, there is a silver lining. A few of them appear to have survived and are playing a beautiful, somber tune as you descend further into the Proscription.

Sadly, those survivors are probably cannibals. I can’t think of anywhere else all of those Shabriri Grapes could have ended up. How about we focus on the music!

On your way down, you’ll see some items to collect, including some blocked by tents. Unlike other objects, these are indestructible for you. Instead, you need to get one of those survivors to attack you. Their Frenzied Flame is the only thing that can clear the way.

Be careful not to get hit; their attack hits hard and fires multiple times. Also, be careful not to hit them too hard when you get their attention, as they have little health.

Continue descending the levels. At some point, there will no longer be stairs to use, and you’ll have to drop from beam to beam. You’re going to have to do a platforming challenge at the end, so get comfortable balancing.

If you mess up, you can speed up the process when you run back by just dropping down from beam to beam all the way to the bottom.

Once you reach the lowest beam, look for the musician playing near the wall on the edge. The platforming challenge begins there. If you have Runes, I highly recommend spending them or equipping a Sacrificial Twig so you don’t accidentally lose them. You can’t guarantee you’ll be able to make it back to where you messed up with each attempt.

Get right up to the edge beside him and aim to step onto that protruding casket.

Then, do a jump from a standing position onto the protruding casket below. Make sure you only hold the direction until you’re airborne, or you’ll overshoot your target.

Next, do a full jump towards the wall with the musician. You need maximum distance. Be careful not to touch the wall when you start, or it might mess up the jump.

Finally, walk onto the last casket, loot the Incantation: Inescapable Frenzy, and step into safety. There is no need to jump.

Gather the items in this area. The enemy you need to break the tent is located at the end of the hallway next to the Fingerprint Shield.

Once you’ve grabbed everything, you can just walk off and land on the bottom floor.

Step 10: Inheriting the Flame of Frenzy

It’s finally time for your audience with the Three Fingers, though you should rest at the Site of Grace (that maybe shouldn’t be there?), speak with Melina, and speak with Hyetta on the other side of the room.

Hyetta will tell you that you need to “divest yourself of your possessions”, which just means you need to unequip your armor before you open the door. You can leave your weapons and talismans equipped.

As Melina implores, opening the door is a point of no return. You will be locked out of all other endings regardless of whether you have completed the associated quests or possess a given Mending Rune. Of course, you’ve made it this far. It’s time to open the door.

Step 11: Final Conversations and Other Items

After inheriting the Flame of Chaos, speak to Hyetta and Melina once again. The order does not matter.

Hyetta will give you the Frenzied Flame Seal, a unique Incantation Catalyst that boosts the damage dealt by Frenzied Flame Incantations by 20% and scales with Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Faith, though the scaling is far stronger for Faith.

It also makes you apply a small amount of Madness status if you (Falcon) punch someone with the hand that holds the seal, which you can do by equipping it in your right hand and doing a strong attack.

You can also return to Shabriri up on the mountaintop if you want Yura’s clothes.

Flame of Frenzy Item Locations

There are 2 other locations in the game related to the Flame of Frenzy that you don’t visit that have related pickups you might want.

Fingerprint Armor and Incantation: Vyke’s Dragonbolt

You already fought Festering Fingerprint Vyke as an invader at the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia. There, he had already inherited the Flame of Frenzy and used related attacks. Here, you’ll fight Roundtable Knight Vyke as he was before he ventured below Lyndell, Royal Capital.

Defeating Roundtable Knight Vyke will reward you with the Fingerprint Armor Set that makes it look like you didn’t get Hyetta’s memo about divesting yourself of your possessions before getting squeezed by the Three Fingers.

You’ll also get Incantation: Vyke’s Dragonbolt, unrelated to the Flame of Frenzy. Rather, it was part of Vyke’s arsenal before inheriting the Flame.

Roundtable Knight Vyke is the boss at the Lord Contender’s Evergaol, which is located atop the Mountaintops of the Giants on a hill between the massive frozen lake and large Fire Monk camp.

Unendurable Frenzy (Incantation)

Unendurable Frenzy is an Incantation that works as a channeled version of the Incantation: Flame of Frenzy.

You can loot Unendurable Frenzy from a chest at the back of the central building at Yelough Anix Ruins near the mine at the Mountaintops of the Giants, Haligtree Side. The surrounding walls are too high to jump over. Instead, you must get a nearby troll to hit the wall with one of its attacks to destroy some of the structure.

Step 12: Choosing a Different Ending

Once the Three Fingers have grabbed hold of you, they won’t let you go, and you are locked into the Lord of Chaos ending. You don’t get to choose other endings, even if you have completed the quest requirements.

There is only a single way to undo this, and it requires you to recover the needle from Millicent and then take it to Malenia’s, then Dragonlord Placidusax’s boss arenas. You have no recourse if you choose to kill Millicent, even if it is to satiate your Rocket Raccoon urges.

Recover the Needle From Millicent

You must complete Millicent’s questline and choose to aid her in defeating her sisters at the Haligtree.

Speak to her after the fight, and she’ll return the Unalloyed Gold Needle to you.

Return the Needle to Malenia

The Scarlet Aeonia flower that bloomed as part of Malenia’s ascendance to Goddess of Rot at the base of the Haligtree remains after you defeat her and reload the area. You must place the Unalloyed Gold Needle you recovered from Millicent in the Scarlet Aeonia.

In return, you’ll get Miquella’s Needle and an Ancient Dragon Somber Smithing Stone.

Use the Needle in the Heart of the Storm Beyond Time

Finally, you’ll need to head to Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena at the center of Crumbling Farum Azula.

This boss is pretty easy to miss, and you don’t even need to fight the boss to Miquella’s Needle; it’s just a consumable item that has to be used in that room. That being said, it’s a pretty fun boss fight that doesn’t have the same issues as the other dragon bosses for melee builds.

Step 13: Lord of Chaos Ending

You’ve done everything you need to do before beating the final boss inside the Erdtree. Unlike with the other endings, there is no decision, so just sit back, relax, and let Shabriri take the wheel!

If your decisions prevented Melina from becoming kindling for the Forge of Giants, you’ll get a slightly longer ending cutscene.
