Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of iCloud for Windows 11 (23H2), the program is telling me I need the "Media Feature Pack" to continue, despite this being enabled in my settings and not using an N version of Windows. Photo syncing is constantly getting stuck at a specific number and I cannot upload photos to iCloud on my computer. I did not have this issue with the previous version of iCloud. I have tried disabling and re-enabling photo syncing and uninstalling and reinstalling iCloud, neither of which worked. iCloud Drive is not affected. How do I fix this issue?

Same issue on both of my Windows 10 Pro computers. "Media Features" are already enabled, I've tried disabling and enabling, and the download linked in iCloud will not install if you don't have an N version of Windows.
Additionally, I can longer approve my Passwords and Keychain in iCloud.
Does Apple even monitor these forums?

- No option to download photos. Windows 10, iCloud 10Hello all. I have been searching for some time, cannot figure this one out. New Windows 10 machine, (May 2020,) all updates installed. iCloud 10 from Microsoft store installed. The iCloud settings dialog Photos, Options, only has ‘iCloud Photo Library,’ and ‘iCloud Photo Sharing,’ as options to check. Nothing else. The status screen always shows ‘updating.’ There is no ‘download’ button. There is no download folder. I have removed and reinstalled iCloud, enabled and disabled Photo Library etc.. Nothing has changed on this one machine. Have not seen this before. Did another program replace a necessary DLL, is something not registered properly? Thanks in advance. 3133

On iCloud settings, when I click "Options" next to photos, I can only either check on "iCloud Photos" or "My Shared Albums" (see image). How can I activate the download option on my PC?Side note: I had installed an old version of the iCloud app with which I could download photos, but I can't do it anymore with this update. I don't want to sound mean but I'm not going to trust a random link on a random non-official website that isn't from Apple or Microsoft.

Hi. I installed this, rebooted, started iCloud for Windows again and no error message. Hopefully, it might work for you too.

I also have this issue. iCloud Photos is also using a significant amount of CPU resources in the background, despite its inability to function.

We should not have to pay for a file from Microsoft or apple to fix this issue I don't care if it's a dollar or not I literally just got this brand-new laptop and it has nothing but issues because Microsoft doesn't want me to use anything but their stuff which is pathetic. And well Apple appears to be no help either I so miss the days when we could just go to Cnet and download the fix I will be asking my son if he can remote connect and fix this ince its his field and i am frankly over the BS

Hi guys, in my case I solved the issue this way, I had also media feature pack preinstalled bcs I have Windows 11 Pro 23H2 version. What I did was that I installed HEVC video extension from microsoft store, after that error message about media pack from icloud is gone :)

Unfortunately, that link is for Windows 10, not 11. It’s also only for the “N” and “KN” version of Windows 10. That doesn’t solve the problem for people with Windows 11, like the original poster.

I ended up having to purchase the HEVC Video Extension from Microsoft and now iCloud is working fine.

Same issue. I think I'll try what someone else suggested and delete the iCloud app.

The "Media Feature Pack" for Windows N-versions is so old, I cannot even install it on my Windows 10 (nor 11) versions!
Probably because my Windows version is "Home" (10)/"Professional" (11) both without the "N" and the "Media Feature Pack" was not meant to be installed on those Windows versions...
I have the "Earlier version of Windows Media Player (app)" installed, tough.

So, how is Apple thinking to fix this annoying error message?
