San Diego International Fringe Festival: Fringe performances this year are spread out at venues across the city. In addition to three locations in Balboa Park, shows will also be held at Mockingbird Improv and the Light Box Theater at Liberty Station; New Destiny Church and No Limits Church in Lincoln Park; Wildsong Theatre and Arts Collective (formerly OB Playhouse) in Ocean Beach; Finest City Improv in Bankers Hill; Tap Fever Studios in Pacific Beach; and Les Girls Theater in the Midway District. Hubbell presentation: The Ilan Lael Foundation will host a free presentation on “James Hubbell and Sim Bruce Richards: Collaborations” as part of its exhibition “Architecture of Jubilation: The Art and Vision of James Hubbell.” The presentation will be led by Keith York, principal of Modern San Diego and author of “The Sensuous Environment.” York will discuss the decade’s long friendship between acclaimed artist James Hubbell and architect Sim Bruce Richards. 6 p.m. Tuesday. Resident Free Days: On Tuesdays throughout each month, different Balboa Park museums open their doors for free to local residents. This week’s open venues are the Japanese Friendship Garden, Mingei International Museum and San Diego Museum of Art. is the San Diego Automotive Museum. Meet “Survivor” stars Rupert and Sandra: As part of a book launch event, “Survivor” stars Rupert Boneham and Sandra Diaz-Twine will meet fans. The book, “Whatever happened to Rosemarie?,” was written by “Survivor” star Christa Hastie’s mother, Vera Christa Doederlein Hastie. How to Astronaut: La Jolla Music Society and Changemaker present a new Speaker Series featuring renowned changemakers who have pushed the boundaries in their fields and whose work reveals insights about our planet. Terry Virts is a retired astronaut and Air Force pilot who also piloted the space shuttle Endeavour. Also an author of “How to Astronaut: Everything You Need to Know Before Leaving Earth,” Virts will share about his career and experiences in space. 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Lebanese Festival: Throughout Memorial Day weekend, St. Ephrem Church will host a Lebanese Festival with traditional foods, music, dancing, a beer and wine garden, carnival games and a raffle for prizes. A kids zone will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with $35 all-day tickets. 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $5 admission. New exhibits at The Nat: As part of its 150th birthday celebrations, the San Diego Museum of Natural History is hosting special activities and events this summer, with several this weekend. Today an immersive nature garden outside the museum will open to the public and is free to explore. A new exhibit, “Action from the Archives: The Nat at 150,” will open with a display of photos representing 150 years of history and the people who have contributed the museum through the years. This weekend also kicks off the museum’s Summer of Wonder events series, which can be explored through its online calendar.
